MATH FOR EXCELLENCE:

A LOUISIAN'S WAY ON TOP


The annual Metrobank-DepEd-MTAP Match Challenge, sponsored by the Metrobank Group, Department of Education, and the Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines, took place in search of talented young mathematicians from all over the country.

SLCV took charge of the Elimination Round for Valenzuela City last January 15, 2011. As a result of their hardwork, the representatives from the First, Second, and Third Year levels got first place in the Elimination Round while the Fourth Year level ranked second. The Grade School ranked first in all levels.


St. Louis College Valenzuela was chosen once again to be the division host of the said prestigious competition which was joined by schools from the Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela and Quezon City North last February 11, 2011. The Louisian team were able to produce good results from their training. The SLCV team from the First Year, Third Year and Fourth Year bagged Fourth place, while the Second Year students ranked Third. In the Grade School Department, Grade III and Grade V got first place, Grade I was third, Grade VI was fifth and Grade II was sixth.

The Louisian representatives from the Second Year, Grade 3 and Grade 5 qulaified for the Sectoral Finals for the National Capital Region. Our Grade 3 pupils got 5th place, Grade 5 got 18th place and Second Year students was ranked no. 8. SLCV Grade School's Kendrick Angelo Thomas S. Santos and Dana Isabelle P. Villano were able to reach the Individual Finals at the Sectoral Level of the competition.


Because of this wonduerul display, the Louisican Community was once again made proud.

SLCV Bags 20 Gold, 10 Silver & 3 Bronze Medals in Division Meet


VALPRISSAA 2011

St. Louis College Valenzuela (SLCV) championed 16 of the events of this year’s Division Meet which opened last Nov. 13 and 16, 2010 for the elementary and high school level respectively.

Valenzuela councilors Tony Espiritu and Gerry Esplana, together with DepEd MAPEH supervisor, Victoria Altoveros, graced the opening ceremony which was held at the Valenzuela Astrodome in Dalandanan.

Participants for the grade school division consisted of 6 representatives—4 of which came from the public schools in Districts 1 to 4 while the remaining 2 were from 2 private schools in Congressional District 1 and 2.  High school participants, on the other hand consisted of 4 delegates—a public and a private high school from Congressional Division 1 and another set from Congressional Division 2.

Participating schools all over Valenzuela competed against each other in different sports such as volleyball, badminton, taekwondo, lawn tennis, table tennis, athletics, and other exciting events to find out who will represent Valenzuela in the up-coming Regionals.
